• Committee put together to evaluate staff in-service to change how training is conducted. This is usually put with faculty and cram everything in right before the fall semester, when staff is really busy, trying to get that changed to accommodate slower summertime

• In week of 17-21, we will have Presidential candidates for interviews, the following week will be final interviews with SBHE, and then we will have a president assigned by the end of the month. Probably won’t take over until July 1st, but could be anywhere from April 1st to July 1st; Narrowed down to 5 candidates

• International student panel along with director of International Student Programs – allows campus to see the process that they go through to get here, ask questions such as what expect of professors and what would they like to see more of when they got here

There was a presentation of the timeline and process to become an international student, and then a Q&;A session to learn more about how we can support our international students.

• Reviewed and discussed draft of DCB Inclement Weather Policy, and recent campus closure due to weather.

• The Dickinson State University Staff Senate, in conjunction with the DSU Heritage Foundation, hosted the annual Holiday Party for staff and faculty on December 3rd. The party included games, appetizers, door prizes, and a lot of fellowship. Attendees were able to participate in helping fill the shelves of the DSU Community Pantry/Closet by bringing clothing, food, and personal hygiene products. The DSU Community Pantry/Closet is available for all DSU campus community members in need.
• DSU Staff Senate is working on a proposal for alternate summer hours for all staff employees. The proposal will include two different options for consideration. This proposal is being brough forth in an effort to enhance the staff morale and efficiency of DSU as a whole.
